A Legacy of Compassionate Mental Health Care Since 1988
Our History
The Founders
Mark A. Greenberg, Ph.D. & Jane R. Greenberg, Ph.D.
Psychology & Counseling Associates, P.C. was founded in 1988 by licensed psychologists Dr. Mark Greenberg and Dr. Jane Greenberg. The Greenbergs met while attending graduate school at Ohio University, later married, and moved to the Philadelphia area to complete their internships.
After gaining valuable experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, they recognized the need for a practice built around a strong client-centered philosophy. With that vision in mind, they established Psychology & Counseling Associates, P.C.
The practice originally opened offices in Montgomeryville and Pottstown, with a Collegeville location added later. Under the Greenbergs' leadership, PCA grew into one of Pennsylvania’s largest behavioral health practices, employing 57 clinicians, including psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and licensed professional counselors.
Throughout their careers, Dr. Mark and Dr. Jane Greenberg remained active members of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and the Philadelphia Society of Clinical Psychologists, where Dr. Mark Greenberg served as Past President. They were also dedicated supporters and leaders within numerous local community organizations.
In 2014, Dr. Jeffrey Walters, a longtime member of the practice and director of the organization, purchased PCA from the Greenbergs and continues their legacy of providing high-quality behavioral health care to individuals and families throughout the community.
Today, the Greenbergs reside in Madison, Wisconsin, where they enjoy spending time near their daughter and her family.
